Alassane Plea is set for another extended absence after sustaining a new injury during PSV’s training session on Thursday. The club confirmed that the setback is unrelated to the severe knee injury he suffered last August against FC Twente, which kept him out for most of last season. PSV expect the 33‑year‑old to remain sidelined at least until the next international break in late September, prolonging a difficult spell since his arrival from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2025.
Plea has made only four appearances for the Dutch side and now faces another frustrating recovery period. Speaking on the club’s website, he vowed to stay positive and committed, stating that he will “do everything” to return as soon as possible and emphasising the importance of resilience.
For PSV, the latest setback further complicates their attacking options as they navigate the early stages of the campaign without one of their experienced forwards.
