Possession Without Reward as Lymers Take the Points

Unfortunately, this will have to go down as a below par performance in a game that we had plenty of possession but could not create clear cut goal scoring chances. A plus point from the game though was seeing the debuts of the young Trinidadian pair, Khaden Caraby and Isaiah Isaac. Both lads doing very well considering that they only arrived in Anguilla just hours before kick off!

The first chance of the game came in just the 3rd minute when Kemari Gumbs tried his luck from a tight angle. In what was a quiet opening period, it took until the 23rd minute for the next noteworthy action when Jordan Deans tried his luck with a thunderous strike that went narrowly wide of the target.

Lymers then started to have a bit more of the ball and after a couple of half chances, they were awarded a penalty five minutes before the break when Dajaun Jacobs was adjudged to have committed a foul in the box. Jabari Williams stepped up and converted the spot kick high into the roof of the net leaving Shemor Browne with no chance of saving. Moments before the referee blew for half-time, Leon Whyle found himself clean through on goal but he was thwarted by some alert goalkeeping.

The second half began with both teams having periods of possession but without creating anything of note. On the hour mark, Kemari Gumbs forced a good save from the Lymers goalkeeper and then debutant Isaiah Isaac went close on a couple of occasions, but again, good goalkeeping prevented us from getting back on level terms.

On 69 minutes, Isaiah delivered a cross to the back post which saw Kemari producing a looping header which went agonisingly wide. The last 20 minutes of the game saw our opponents having every player behind the ball and try as we might, we could not quite produce that bit of a magic that was needed to draw level and Lymers held on to claim a vital three points.
