Real Betis 1-1 draw at home against Sevilla

In the Seville derby, Real Betis' hopes of qualifying for Europe were dashed as the team drew 1-1 at home against Sevilla. Isco gave Betis the lead in the 38th minute, but Kike Salas gave the visitors a response in the 56th, putting Betis two points ahead of Real Sociedad in sixth position for the last Europa Conference League slot.

Fifth position With nine points more than Betis, Athletic Bilbao held the last Europa League qualifying spot. Despite finishing in 13th place, Sevilla now has a 12-point lead over the relegation zone with five matches remaining. Shortly after Sevilla equalized, Betis was given a penalty kick; however, with the aid of video review, the ruling was overturned. Isco's contentious handball led to his penalty kick. After a run of four straight losses, Betis was coming off two straight wins, at Valencia and against Celta Vigo. Sevilla was winning three straight.
