Real Madrid's comfortable 2-0 victory over struggling Granada

After Girona's earlier 2-1 victory over Valencia, Los Blancos faltered for a few hours, ending their day in top place. On minute 26, Germany midfielder Toni Kroos put up Brahim Diaz for the game's first goal with a brilliant ball. After Jude Bellingham's effort was saved, Rodrygo scored on the rebound to seal the victory after 57 minutes. Though they had been without a win at the Bernabeu this season due to injuries, Carlo Ancelotti's team has now won five straight games across all competitions. Among the players absent are Vinicius Jr., Luka Modric, and Eduardo Camavinga.

They lead Girona, who defeated Valencia with two goals in the dying minutes from former Middlesbrough striker Cristhian Stuani, on goal differential. After 22 minutes, Bellingham and Antonio Rudiger were both issued yellow cards for showing their annoyance to the referee by requesting a free kick for a trip on the star midfield player that was not granted.
