Santos reunite Coutinho and Neymar for star‑studded push

Santos have officially announced the signing of Philippe Coutinho, who joins the club on a deal running until the end of the season. The 34‑year‑old becomes the fifth addition of the window, linking up with fellow newcomers Arthur Melo, Rodinei, Lima and Everton “Cebolinha” in a squad already headlined by Neymar. Coutinho arrives after terminating his contract with Vasco da Gama in February following heavy criticism and a seven‑month spell without competitive action.

He has already begun training under manager Cuca as he works to regain match fitness. A product of Vasco’s academy, Coutinho moved to Europe with Inter Milan and later shone at Liverpool before sealing a blockbuster transfer to Barcelona in 2018. He also spent time at Bayern Munich, winning the Champions League in 2020. Internationally, he has earned 68 caps for Brazil, scoring 21 goals and lifting the 2019 Copa América.
