Schalke and Wolfsburg match draws without goals

Schalke made a power pack start with looking forward to taking their first chance of winning in the Bundesliga since November. The first effort in the game was put by the Japanese winger Soichiro Kuzuki, but Koen Casteels denied that successfully. The hosts were quite in trouble when Moritz Jenz got Patrick Wimmer down and after a VAR check, the referee gave them a penalty. This was until Maximilian Arnold came and smashed the spot kick.

Schalke played better in a half but it got difficult to create clear openings with Wolfsburg. Michael Frey made the effort but missed the target and rest it remained without any goals at the break. In the Bundesliga, out of four in total, Arnold has missed two penalties. Also, in its last 6 Bundesliga matches, the Wolves have not been defeated against Schalke, with 3 wins and 3 draws.
