Villarreal defeated Granada 3-2

Villarreal led 3-0 after 28 minutes thanks to a Gerardo Moreno double and an Alexander Sørloth goal but surrendered twice before halftime to set up a tense second half. Ricard Sanchez and Myrto Uzuni scored for the hosts, who threatened a remarkable comeback in the next half.

After 18 minutes, Moreno scored from close range and converted a penalty five minutes later before Norway international Sorloth added a third. However, if Villarreal believed their hard work was finished, they were incorrect. Sanchez scored seconds after Sorloth's goal with an angled shot from the right, and Uzuni added a wonderful second five minutes later. The loss prolonged Granada's winless streak against Villarreal, whom they have not beaten since March 2014.
