Vincic appointed to officiate Bayern–Real Madrid quarter‑final decider

UEFA has confirmed that Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic will oversee the Champions League quarter‑final second leg between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena. The forty‑six‑year‑old is a familiar figure to the Spanish champions, having taken charge of the 2024 final at Wembley, where late goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior secured their fifteenth European title. Today’s match will be the fifth Real Madrid fixture he has officiated, following further assignments against AC Milan, Juventus and Benfica across the past two seasons.

Vincic also has extensive history with Bayern, refereeing them five times with a balanced record of two wins, two draws and one defeat — a 4–1 loss to Barcelona in October 2024. His most recent Bayern appointment came in April 2025 during a 2–2 quarter‑final draw with Inter Milan. He will be assisted by compatriots Tomaz Klancnik and Andraz Kovacic, with David Smajc as fourth official and Dutchman Pol van Boekel on VAR.
