Wind chooses Braga after Wolfsburg exit

Danish forward Jonas Wind has completed a free transfer to SC Braga after ending his contract with Wolfsburg, committing to the Portuguese club until 2029. The 27‑year‑old had multiple options for the next step in his career, but reports indicate he was convinced by Braga’s sporting project and long‑term vision.

Wind leaves Wolfsburg after five seasons in Germany, where he arrived from FC Copenhagen during the 2021/22 campaign. A regular Denmark international with 37 caps and eight goals, he brings experience and technical quality to Braga’s attack. His final year in the Bundesliga was challenging, producing just one goal in 12 appearances, a sharp contrast to his 2024/25 output of 11 goals and four assists across 35 matches.

Braga view Wind as a key addition for the coming years, hoping he can rediscover his best form in the Primeira Liga and strengthen their ambitions domestically and in European competition.
