Canada wins their first medal by taking down Mexico in Softball

Canada beats Mexico by 3-2 in Olympics Softball match to win the bronze which would be their first medal of Tokyo. Canada also recorded their best finish at the Yokohama Stadium with the third-place finish in Softball, last time around at Beijing 2008 they had just missed out on a medal when they finished fourth. In Team Canada from their roster, Danielle Lawrie, Kaleigh Rafter, Lauren Regula, and Jenn Salling had also played in Beijing.

Canadians went 4-2 and in the ranking were third behind US who are 5-0 and Japan who are 4-1, both the teams would now head towards the gold medal match later in the day as a rematch of the Beijing final. Japan would be defending their gold this time though.
