Amir Coffey signs with Milwaukee Bucks on training camp deal

Amir Coffey ought to be on the NBA team. He just finished his career with the Clippers, where he averaged 9.7 points per game, shot 40.9% from three-point range, and played 24 minutes a night for a team that finished with 50 wins.

That, however, was insufficient to secure Coffey a typical NBA contract. According to Shams Charania of ESPN, he signed a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. However, Eric Nehm of The Athletic claims that Coffey's contract is only for training camp. The veteran Coffey is not eligible for a two-way contract, and Milwaukee already has a maximum of 15 players under contract for the upcoming campaign. From a technical standpoint, Andre Jackson Jr.'s contract is not entirely assured. The Bucks could retain Coffey and release Jackson Jr. if they were prepared to pay the $800,000 buyout price.
