The Orlando Magic face fresh concerns after Paolo Banchero experienced ankle discomfort during Friday’s 115-93 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Head coach Sean Sweeney confirmed the issue, according to Orlando Sentinel reporter Jason Beede, while further medical examinations are expected to clarify its severity and recovery timeline.
Banchero started the season brilliantly against Atlanta, scoring 35 points on 10-of-12 shooting, with 10 rebounds and seven assists. Against Minnesota, however, he finished with 14 points, six rebounds and five assists in 26 minutes.
Orlando must now assess his availability for Sunday’s road trip to New York, avoiding unnecessary risks with its franchise cornerstone.
If Banchero sits out or plays limited minutes, Franz Wagner, Desmond Bane, Jalen Suggs and Wendell Carter Jr. will need to shoulder additional responsibility while the team awaits further medical updates regarding its star player’s condition.
