Bobby Portis is interested in joining the Lakers, according to Peter Dewey of Lakers Daily, so that he may work with Darvin Ham again. Ham spent four years as an assistant coach with the Bucks.
Portis wants to join the Lakers to work with former head coach Darvin Ham again, a source told Dewey. "Ham quit the Bucks after the 2021–22 campaign to become the Lakers' head coach. In the 2020–21 season, with Portis on the roster, he assisted in coaching the Bucks throughout their journey to the NBA Finals. In July 2022, Portis agreed to a four-year, $48.6 million deal with the Bucks. Since Portis can't become an unrestricted free agency until the summer of 2025, the Lakers would have to make a trade to add the power forward to their team.
