Brayden Burries becomes Milwaukee’s first post‑Giannis bet

Brayden Burries, selected tenth overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, has officially signed his rookie contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, becoming the 23rd first‑rounder to ink a deal this year. The 193‑centimetre shooting guard impressed immediately during his lone season at Arizona, averaging 16.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals in under 30 minutes per game, while shooting efficiently across the board. His standout campaign earned him All‑Big 12 First Team honours and cemented his status as a top‑tier prospect.

Though widely projected to go ninth to Dallas, Burries slid one spot after the Mavericks surprised observers by selecting Morez Johnson Jr. Milwaukee seized the opportunity, making Burries their first major addition since signalling a dramatic shift by trading Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami. His contract is worth approximately $6.42 million for 2026/27 and $29.21 million over four years.
