While Giannis Antetokounmpo isn’t expected to request a trade, the Milwaukee Bucks could still see major changes this offseason, starting with veteran center Brook Lopez. According to Matt Moore of Hardwood Paroxysm, the Bucks are strongly considering parting ways with Lopez if he doesn’t re-sign. “Most everyone I’ve spoken to assumes Brook Lopez is gone,” Moore stated.
Lopez, now a free agent, has been with Milwaukee since 2018, anchoring their defense and contributing to their 2021 championship run. Though nearing the end of his career, the 36-year-old remains a dependable presence, much like Al Horford — a proven pro, defensive asset, and culture fit. The Bucks are expected to retain Kevin Porter Jr., but broader roster changes appear likely. Whether Lopez returns or joins another contender, his future in Milwaukee is uncertain heading into the 2024–25 season.
