Boston Celtics have agreed to a two-year, $44.2 million contract extension with Payton Pritchard, keeping the guard firmly in the franchise’s long-term plans. The agreement also includes a mutual option for the 2029-30 season.
His representatives, CAA’s Austin Brown and agent Max Saidman, confirmed the deal, which comes as Boston continues to adjust its roster and plan for the seasons ahead.
Fully guaranteed for both years, the extension represents the maximum permitted under applicable contract rules, highlighting the organization’s confidence in Pritchard’s development and growing importance.
A member of Boston’s 2024 NBA championship team, Pritchard has steadily increased his responsibilities. In 2025, he earned Sixth Man of the Year honors, cementing his reputation as one of the league’s most productive reserves.
Last season, he averaged career highs of 17 points, 5.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game, further justifying Boston’s commitment to his future.
