The Detroit Pistons have signed guard Colby Jones to a two-way contract, the team announced today. As per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. In a corresponding move, forward Ron Harper Jr. was waived.
Jones, a 6'6" guard from Birmingham, Alabama, has played 69 NBA games over two seasons with the Sacramento Kings and Washington Wizards, averaging 3.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 10.2 minutes per game. He was traded to Washington on February 6, 2025, where he averaged 8.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists across 15 games, shooting 46.6% in 25.7 minutes per contest. Originally selected 34th overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2023 NBA Draft, Jones starred at Xavier University, earning Second Team All-Big East honors in 2023. Over three college seasons, he posted averages of 12.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.
