Stephen Curry erupted for 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter and Buddy Hield drilled nine 3-pointers en route to 33 points as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets 103-89 in Game 7 to advance to the Western Conference semifinals. Hield was red-hot early, scoring 22 in the first half with six triples to give Golden State a 12-point cushion, while Curry added 10 rebounds and seven assists.
The Warriors, now set to face the Timberwolves in Minnesota on Tuesday, became just the seventh No. 7 seed to reach the semifinals in NBA history. Hield’s 9-of-11 shooting from deep set a Game 7 record, outpacing the Rockets’ total of six made threes. Amen Thompson led Houston with 24 points, but the young Rockets couldn’t overcome the Warriors’ experience in a winner-take-all showdown.
