Heat emerge as frontrunners for Giannis sweepstakes

Giannis Antetokounmpo appears closer than ever to leaving Milwaukee, and momentum around the league now points decisively toward Miami. Multiple teams have explored trade frameworks, but several insiders describe the Heat as the most realistic landing spot. According to Jake Fischer, executives across the NBA view Miami as the clear favourite, noting Antetokounmpo’s long‑standing interest dating back to 2020. Sources also indicate that Milwaukee is signalling to agents and rival front offices that they expect an additional late first‑round pick alongside their current No. 10 selection in any deal.

The Bucks, however, find themselves negotiating from a weakened position. With Antetokounmpo’s desire to leave widely known, offers have been far below the franchise’s expectations for a future Hall of Famer. Sam Amick reports that the limited proposals received, including Miami’s, have created internal tension. Despite this, the Heat remain firmly ahead of other suitors, even without presenting Milwaukee’s ideal package.
