Jokic’s triple double powers Nuggets to a win against Pelicans

Nikola Jokic dropped game-high 39 points with a triple-double to help Denver Nuggets overtake New Orleans Pelicans 120-114 in overtime on Wednesday. 11 of his points came in the extra time as Jokic also added 11 rebounds and 11 assists. This was their third time in 11 games, as the team improved to 12-12 this season while pushing down New Orleans Pelicans to 7-20.

Will Barton had 20 points for Nuggets while Jonas Valanciunas scored the highest from Pelicans end with 27 points and 11 rebounds and Herbert Jones Jr. put on his best foot forward to score season-high 19 points for New Orleans. Pelicans suffered a mid-match setback when backup guard Kira Lewis Jr., unfortunately, sprained his right knee during the match and made his way off the field in the second quarter not to return later.
