Keels’ Summer League run ends after knee injury

Trevor Keels will miss the remainder of the NBA Summer League after suffering a right MCL sprain, according to reporting from the Miami Herald. The free‑agent guard had been one of Miami’s brightest surprises, averaging 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals while shooting an efficient 50 percent from the field across four games.

Keels finished last season on a two‑way deal with the Heat, but the team declined to extend a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent. Before the injury, he spoke openly about his determination to earn another NBA opportunity, noting that previous Summer League stints offered limited playing time. Keels emphasized his commitment to Miami’s culture and praised the organization’s communication. He spent most of 2025‑26 with Sioux Falls, posting 18.7 points per game in the G League.
