Mavericks ‘Would Love’ to Acquire Hawks’ Clint Capela

In August 2021, Hardaway Jr. agreed to a four-year, $75 million deal with the Mavericks. In 71 games last season, he shot 40.1% from the field, 38.5% from beyond the arc, and 77.0% from the free-throw line for averages of 14.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. The Michigan native will earn $17.9 million in the next campaign. With the New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, and Mavericks during the course of his 31-year career, Hardaway Jr. averaged 14.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Mavericks "would love" to acquire Clint Capela from the Hawks after missing the play-in tournament last year. The Mavericks are interested in teaming the centre with All-Stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, both of whom are outstanding passers in the pick-and-roll game.
