As we approach the fourth week of August, some of the well-known players have still not been picked from free agency yet, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist being one of them. The former Kentucky star kickstarted his NBA career by being the second overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft chosen by the Charlotte Hornets who were known as Bobcats back then.
It has been two long years of absence for Kidd-Gilchrist, the last time he played in 2020 for Dallas Mavericks, and even featured in the preseason roster of the New York Knicks the next season but now the 28-years-old is still looking for a team. The player at the college level helped Kentucky win the National Championship with a 38-2 record and played alongside Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis as well. At this age, he could bring a lot of experience to the roster and would be potentially very helpful off the bench.
