To clear cap space, Brooklyn Nets went into the 2019 NBA draft and paved ways to join forces in Brooklyn for Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and DeAndre Jordan. But, they also came with a prospect in the draft, selecting Nicolas Claxton with the first pick of the 2nd round since when Claxton overcame many injuries and is now displaying his potential on the court.
Claxton is a 21-year-old from Georgia who has unique ability of guarding perimeter players and switching on defense. In 2020-21, he registered double figures in 3 out of first 7 matches. He has to stay healthy and safe from injuries. When he was new, his limit was only 15 games besides the 9 games of G-League that he played, due to the strain and surgery in shoulder. The off-season is his rehab time.
