Orlando Magic has successfully got its hands on the young big men for a long time. The terms of the deal remain unknown but Wendell Carter Jr. was offered a rookie contract extension which could be worth around $50 million over four seasons. The sixth overall pick from the 2018 NBA Draft, had entered the final year of his rookie contract in 2021-22. The 22-year-old has performed well at Magic averaging 11.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 22 games which included 19 starts last season.
The 6-10 center was traded to Orlando in February with Chicago Bulls, who got Nikola Vucevic as part of the deal. His career at Bulls was injury-ridden but started about 112 games for the Bulls from 2018-21 but due to his susceptiblity to injury, he had not played more than 55 games per season.
