According to an NBA insider who spoke to The Oregonian/OregonLive, forward Kevin Knox has signed a one-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. The story was initially reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic. At the trade deadline in the previous season, Knox was acquired by the Blazers from the Pistons. He played in 21 games, including four starts, averaging 8.5 points and 17.1 minutes per game.
Knox played 30 minutes per game over the final eight games of the season, scoring 16 points on average while shooting 42.9% from the field and 30.6% from three-point range. The Blazers desperately need length, which 6-foot-7 Knox delivers. It is uncertain how he will play for the team in the upcoming season. If Knox is selected for the team, he may compete for playing time at small forward. Nassir Little is currently the best returning small forward for the Blazers.
