In Game 2 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the Houston Rockets hosted the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.
The Rockets were keen to win at home before the series travelled to the Bay Area after losing Game 1. They accomplished this with ease, winning 109-94. With 38 points at the end, Jalen Green led the Rockets in scoring. This follows a lacklustre showing in Game 1, in which the Rockets' leading scorer from the regular season only managed seven points. Stephen Curry was the Warriors top performer on offense, finishing with 20 points. Near the end of the first quarter, Houston’s Amen Thompson was pushed underneath a leaping Jimmy Butler, causing him to fall awkwardly and land on his tailbone. Butler limped around the court during Houston’s next possession, but he would exit the game and head to the locker room. Several minutes later, he was officially ruled out for the game with a pelvis contusion.
