The Celtics make a comeback by beating the Knicks in Game 3

With 23 points from Payton Pritchard and 22 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists from Jayson Tatum, the Boston Celtics easily defeated the New York Knicks 115-93 in Game 3 on Saturday, earning their first Eastern Conference playoff victory. After hitting only 25 for 100 from 3-point range in their two defeats in Boston, when they squandered 20-point leads in the second half of both games, the Celtics shot 20 for 40 from 3-point range. In this game, they led by 31 points, and the Knicks never mounted a serious comeback.

Tatum and Pritchard, who is the NBA Sixth Man of the Year, each made five three-pointers. The Celtics, who will try to square the series Monday night in Game 4 before traveling back to Boston for Game 5 on Wednesday, got 19 points from Jaylen Brown and 17 from Derrick White.
