The Rockets and Steven Adams have reached an agreement on a three-year, $39 million contract. Barring any potential trades, Adams will stay with the Rockets until he is 35 and avoid free agency. After finishing 52-30 in the regular season, the Rockets improved further in the 2024–25 campaign, securing the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. Despite losing to the Golden State Warriors in the first round, they were unable to capitalize on their regular-season brilliance with a lengthy postseason run, but it was still an incredible season from a team full of potential.
Following a challenging playoff journey, the Rockets succumbed to the Golden State Warriors in an exciting seven-game series. However, Adams' leadership and knowledge were crucial to the team's impressive 52-30 record and second-place finish in the Western Conference. With an average of 22.1 minutes per game during the playoffs, he was a tremendous asset.
