Washington Wizards powered through with an 18-0 run between the third and fourth quarters to see off Pistons with the 116-113 win on Tuesday night at Capital One Arena. Eight Wizards players were in the double figures with Kyle Kuzma leading with 21 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
Washington kept their winning streak alive against Detroit with 14-straight home game wins over the years and this season they improved it to 3-0. Wes Unseld Jr. infused new energy in the players when he called a timeout with 2:23 minutes left in the third quarter. Washington was running behind with 85-79 and it was time they end Detroit’s domination and take over. Rui Hachimura then kicked off with two consecutive threes and after an 18 point domination, Washington led by 12 points in the fourth quarter.
