Glenn Maxwell, Australia's limited-overs specialist and one of the finest all-rounders in the sport, signed a new four-year deal with Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL) on Friday. The 33-year-old cricketer has devoted himself to the team and has been a key part of the BBL since its start, appearing in every season of the league. Maxwell is considered one of the top T20 players in the world. He is third on the all-time BBL runs-scoring list and smashed a record-breaking unbeaten 154 off only 64 deliveries in the final round of BBL-11 this year.
Maxwell expressed his delight at committing to the club after signing the long-term contract. He stated that he aimed to win a BBL title with the Stars and that he thought his squad have the necessary talent. Maxwell described the team as "very close," with "some of the top T20 players in the world" and "good coaching support."
