Ireland leg-spinner Ben White has retired from representative cricket, Cricket Ireland confirmed Wednesday. The 28-year-old debuted in a T20I against South Africa in Belfast in 2021 and played his final match against Bangladesh last December.
White earned 43 caps across formats, 38 in T20Is, and featured in three Tests during 2023. He claimed 41 international wickets and represented Ireland at three ICC Men's T20 World Cups in 2021, 2024 and 2026.
In a statement, White said fulfilling a childhood dream was an honour, adding that playing Test cricket and three World Cups was never on his bingo card but remains a source of immense pride.
Head coach Gary Wilson praised White's dedication and bounce-generating pace, noting his 40-plus caps and presence will be missed, particularly in the T20 setup.
