Captain Dimuth Karunaratne did fight hard with his fourteenth test ton (107) but with no support from the rest of the team, they were bowled out at 208 in the second inning. Earlier visitors also lost to India by an innings and 222 runs inside three days. India left Sri Lanka on crutches by taking three wickets for eight runs in the long format and pushing the team towards defeat.
