Sri Lanka finalize 15‑player squad for 2026 Asian Games

Sri Lanka have confirmed their 15‑player squad for the women’s cricket competition at the 2026 Asian Games, selecting a group that mixes continuity from the recent Asia Cup with a few notable changes. Captain Chamari Athapaththu again leads the side, supported by several established performers including Imesha Dulani, Harshitha Samarawickrama, Kaveesha Dilhari, Hasini Perera, Sugandika Kumari and Anushka Sanjeewani.

The squad also features exciting young talent, with 17‑year‑old Chamudi Praboda earning a place after impressing during the Asia Cup, and 19‑year‑old Rashmika Sewwandi returning following her T20I appearance against Pakistan in August. Among the absentees are Vishmi Gunarathne, Nilakshika Silva and Chetana Vimukthi, all of whom played key roles across recent tournaments. Athapaththu’s leadership remains central, especially after her standout T20 World Cup campaign.
