Steve Smith might return to a captaincy in tests

There has been an ongoing debate for the past few months over whether Steve Smith will take over the captaincy of the Australian cricket team or not.  And, that too across all the three formats of the game. David Warner along with Steve Smith had made a resurgence to the top-notch cricket level in the 2019 World Cup. He finished his two-year captaincy ban in March 2020. However, Cricket Australia (CA) had not clarified whether Steve Smith will ever guide the team again. At present, Tim Paine is ruling the national team in the longest format of the game. Aaron Finch has worn the captain’s hat in the limited-overs format. Finch has fortunately led the team since 2018 as they hold-out the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup.
