Cloud9 takes a drastic step of putting their CSGO division on hold

After rounds of disappointing results, Cloud9 puts its CSGO division on hold and moves all the players to the bench in the hopes to sell them soon. The financial constraints force their hand, Cloud9 though wishes to return to the sport with a North American team. The roster was build keeping in-game leader Alex "⁠ALEX⁠" McMeekin in the center of it all and under coach Aleksandar "⁠kassad⁠" Trifunović, but the Serbian later left the organization. Özgür "⁠woxic⁠" Eker was benched as well to make way for Erick "⁠Xeppaa⁠" Bach and Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen was the AWPer.

The team failed to make it past the quarterfinal round of  cs_summit 7 and DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 Europe. Their performance in Flashpoint 2,  IEM Katowice Play-In and was also not up to the mark they even failed to secure a place in ESL Pro League Season 13.
