Evil Geniuses have announced their exit from Counter-Strike

Evil Geniuses has officially announced their departure from the competitive Counter-Strike scene, bringing an end to their second venture into the franchise that commenced with the acquisition of the NRG roster in September 2019. During their initial foray, the team achieved considerable success, becoming a consistent contender in tournaments, reaching the pinnacle of the HLTV world rankings, and securing victories at prestigious events such as ESL One New York 2019.

However, the team's performance took a downturn in the online era, leading to a series of disappointing results from 2021 onwards. Roster changes further weakened the squad, diminishing its former glory. A notable incident occurred when one of the organization's staff displayed hubris following a lone best-of-three victory against Heroic, one of only two series won out of 17 in 2023.
