G2 beating ENCE to win the IEM Cologne championship

G2 defeated ENCE 3-1 to win the IEM Cologne championship, which might be the final significant prize in CS:GO history. The European team won Nuke (16-4), Mirage (16-10) and Ancient (16-9), but fell short on Anubis (13-16). G2 were clearly the superior team throughout the series, barely faltering in the early stages of Anubis. ENCE shown their brilliance at times, even making G2 sweat with half or force-buys, but they eventually appeared unable to take the strain.

NiKo won the IEM Cologne trophy for the first time in his career, and he said in a post-match interview that it helped him get over the disappointment of never winning a CS:GO Major. He also mentioned the significance of m0NESY in G2's success. When Anubis appeared, ENCE appeared to rebound, with the Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer-led squad significantly more bold and combative as they began on the T side.
