G2 overcame Cloud9 in a 2-0 series to secure their spot in the May 8–21 BLAST.tv Paris Major. Nikola "NiKo" Kova and their team dominated at Vertigo to start the series (16-6) before defeating the side at Inferno (16-13) despite nearly blowing a 13-5 advantage.
The European combine's loss against 9INE in the opening round put G2's RMR campaign on the back foot, but they recovered and triumphed in their subsequent best-of-one matches against iNation and Aurora. They subsequently defeated the ghosts of their IEM Rio RMR run and returned to a Major with three dominant halves against Cloud9. Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen, posted the highest 1.58 rating and surprised everyone. Although G2 has secured a spot at the Major, it is unknown at this time whether their campaign will begin in the Challengers or Legends Stage. They will face Vitality as their first opponent in the decider bracket on Friday.
