HEROIC secured the final Group A playoff spot in ESL Pro League Season 20 after defeating Sangal in a two-map series (Mirage 13-11, Nuke 13-9). This victory comes during a challenging period for HEROIC, following unsuccessful runs at BLAST Premier Showdown and BetBoom Dacha Belgrade. Coach Eetu "⁠sAw⁠" Saha had previously expressed disappointment in the team's recent performances.

HEROIC's EPL campaign began with a setback after a map win against Ninjas in Pyjamas was overturned due to René "⁠TeSeS⁠" Madsen's Snap Tap usage. However, the team rebounded, defeating Lynn Vision, then avenging losses to Ninjas in Pyjamas and Sangal to secure their spot. Captain Damjan "⁠kyxsan⁠" Stoilkovski expressed relief, noting their resilience in overcoming past failures. Despite Sangal's strong showing in Malta, including wins over FaZe, HEROIC, and FlyQuest, they ultimately fell short of the playoffs.
