Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen announced his retirement from competitive gaming, bringing an end to a Counter-Strike career that began in Source. The Dane would not completely rule out a return to the Counter-Strike arena, but he speculated that his next adventure will take place elsewhere. MSL started off in Counter-Strike: Source and then switched to Global Offensive. He attended some of the first Big Events for Global Offensive with his first prominent squad, Anexis.
The Danish player then began a career that would last for the next ten years of the game, during which time he would play for renowned teams like Dignitas, North, and OpTic. MSL competed in nine Majors during the course of his career and won seven notable competitions, including the DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 where he also earned the lone HLTV MVP award.
