The Mongolz won the 5E Arena Asia Cup Fall qualifier and will compete in the tournament's infamously competitive qualifier, the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, for a ticket in the BLAST Premier Fall Final.
The top Asian team achieved the feat just days after losing to both 5yclone and Lynn Vision in the Asian qualification for IEM Sydney, which prevented them from earning a spot in the championship. This time, they only lost once, against 5yclone in the group stage, although the initial error was corrected in the playoffs. The team coached by Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren had a difficult time defeating its ATOX countrymen in the opening round of the four-team playoff. They opened the series with a loss before winning the next two maps in overtime to wrap it up. In the grand final, where they took revenge on 5yclone, TheMongolz stole their Chinese rival's pick, Inferno, in 30 rounds, before sweeping the floor on Overpass, 16-3.
