In League of Legends, players who frequently leave games or go AFK (away from keyboard) may face the Leaverbuster system, which places them in a "low priority queue." This penalty system, introduced by Riot Games, aims to reduce disruptive behavior by extending the time players must wait to enter new matches. The system is tiered, meaning penalties increase with each infraction.
At the first level, players receive a one-minute wait penalty for a single match. However, with repeated offenses, penalties worsen. Tiers one to three impose extended waiting periods for five games, while higher tiers can restrict match entry for up to fourteen days. Persistent leavers climb this penalty ladder, with eight tiers in total, ranging from mild wait times to lengthy bans, encouraging fair play and discouraging abandonment.
