Riot Games has opened an investigation this week

Following claims that a League of Legends series was tossed, Riot Games started an inquiry this week, with matches during the North American Challenger League Spring promotion receiving special attention. The earliest allegations from League writer Sander Hove on September 5 indicate that a large number of players are allegedly engaged in the issue. Although the case's specifics have not yet been confirmed, it is thought that the player in issue may have put a sizable wager on their opponent before entering the Rift.

Hove claims that Riot is concentrating especially on the two qualifying matches involving Supernova, who was eliminated from the NACL top division after losing to LiT in their upper bracket qualifying match and then losing to Mirage in a series sweep. The League team dropped to ninth place during the regular NACL season, and as a result of its following promotion defeats, is no longer in the league.
