Nico Hulkenberg has penned a multi-year extension with the Audi Formula 1

Nico Hulkenberg's decision to join Audi's F1 project was significantly influenced by Andreas Seidl, the CEO of Audi F1 and a fellow German. Hulkenberg highlighted Seidl's pivotal role, describing him as a "driving factor" behind his choice. Seidl's direct and straightforward approach resonated with Hulkenberg, making the decision clearer. This collaboration isn't their first; they previously worked together when Seidl helmed the Porsche LMP1 squad, where Hulkenberg secured a notable victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015. The relationship between the two extends beyond Audi, with Hulkenberg reaching out to Seidl previously when exploring opportunities at McLaren after departing Renault in 2019.

This history underscores the trust and rapport between them, shaping Hulkenberg's journey into Audi's F1 venture. As the first driver signed to the team, Hulkenberg's arrival sets a significant precedent, with speculation swirling around potential additions like Carlos Sainz for the second seat.
