28-year-old player suffers cardiorespiratory arrest in Norway

Emil Pálsson, a 28-year-old Icelandic player, suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest in a match between Sogndal and Stjordals-Blink, played on Monday and counting for the Second League of Norway.

The midfielder fell inanimate at the 12th minute and was promptly assisted by the medical teams who managed to revive the athlete a few minutes after starting the cardiac massage procedure.

Pálsson was then transported to the nearest hospital by helicopter for further tests. The meeting was eventually suspended.
