Ajax target veteran keepers Ter Stegen and Sommer

Ajax are exploring high‑profile goalkeeping options as they look to replace Vitezslav Jaros, whose loan ended early after an ACL tear. Maarten Paes covered the position temporarily, but the club want a senior long‑term solution under new manager Míchel. According to transfer specialist Nicolo Schira, Marc‑Andre ter Stegen and Yann Sommer have emerged as the leading candidates.

Ter Stegen, currently contracted to Barcelona until 2028, built a strong rapport with Míchel during his loan spell at Girona before a hamstring injury cut his season short. Ajax are reportedly gathering medical information on the 34‑year‑old, though his €15 million annual salary could be a major obstacle.

Sommer, 37, is also under consideration as he prepares to leave Inter when his contract expires this summer. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ajax have already made contact with the Swiss international, who offers experience and immediate reliability for a rebuilding squad.
