AS Roma want Atletico Madrid forward Nikola Kalinic

Clubs in Italy and Spain have up until September 2nd to complete any last minute transfer deals, and according to reports in Marca, Paulo Fonseca is keen on the Croatian international.

Kalinic has been told by Diego Simeone that he is not part of his plans for the 2019-20 season, after bringing in Joao Felix, alongside Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata.

The Italian side are in need of striking options, following the departure of Stephan El Shaarawy, and the could negotiate a loan deal for the 31-year old forward, if a permanent transfer cannot be agreed.

Kalinic has played in Serie A before, with spells at AC Milan and Fiorentina, 2015 and 2018, prior to his move to the Spanish capital in 2018.
