Benfica have unveiled an updated club crest, with president Rui Costa presenting the new design during Saturday’s general assembly on October 31. The changes follow the revision of the club’s statutes, approved in March 2025, and aim to preserve its historic identity while meeting the new regulations.
The most noticeable adjustments concern the eagle and bicycle wheel. The eagle returns to its traditional position, holding the ribbon bearing the Latin motto “E Pluribus Unum” with its talons, while the bicycle wheel has been changed to gold.
The emblem retains its familiar features, including the red and white shield, football and historic motto.
Rui Costa confirmed that the new design will first appear on membership cards following a renumbering process. Its adoption will then extend gradually to all other areas of the club over the coming months, ensuring a smooth transition.
