Victor Osimhen is facing another spell on the sidelines after Galatasaray confirmed he will undergo surgery on his left knee. The Nigerian striker suffered the injury during Tuesday's Champions League clash against VfB Stuttgart, with an MRI scan revealing a loose fragment requiring medical intervention.
The 27-year-old is scheduled for arthroscopic surgery at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital, under the supervision of club doctor Yener Ince. He has consequently been ruled out of Saturday's domestic fixture against Amed Sportif Faaliyetler.
Although Galatasaray have not announced a recovery timeline, his participation in Nigeria's upcoming international commitments is now in serious doubt.
Eric Chelle's side face Tanzania on November 13 in Uyo before travelling to Dar es Salaam four days later for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying return fixture.
Osimhen previously missed September's qualifiers through injury, making his latest setback particularly frustrating for Nigeria.
